The 2GIG IMAGE3 is an image sensor designed for use with a 2GIG GC3, GC3e or 2GIG Edge. It features a camera and a PIR motion sensor in one device. When the PIR sensor indicates an alarm, the camera can capture images. The images can then be accessed remotely through the Alarm.com service.
The 2GIG IMAGE3 Image Sensor produces high-resolution 640x480 (VGA) color images that are perfect for confirming a break-in. It uses IR night vision to produce detailed pictures in the dark. The 2GIG IMAGE3 has an improved battery life over its predecessors, at more than three (3) years. A tri-colored LED light assists with installation. The module produces four images when activated. Twice the number of previous models. Users can receive alerts via text and/or email from Alarm.com when the device is activated. Using Alarm.com, a "peek-in" can also be performed at any time allowing the user to see what's happening while they are away.

Using Image Sensor Rules through Alarm.com, the Image Sensor can be programmed to capture and automatically upload the first motion event detected during a specified time period. This is called a "Daily View". An "Activity Alert" can be configured to capture and automatically upload images for the first motion event after a specified period of inactivity. These options are available in addition to the standard alarm capture, and peek-in images.

Please note that to enable the 2GIG IMAGE3 on any of the compatible panels, the Image Sensor Adapter (2GIG XCVR3-GC3) must be installed with the system. Additionally, the 2GIG GC3 system must be running Firmware version 3.0.1 or higher. The same Image Sensor Adapter module is required to use the image sensor with the 2GIG GC3e. All firmware versions of the 2GIG GC3e will support the image sensor.

Lastly, the 2GIG IMAGE3 can enroll with the 2GIG Edge System after a 2GIG XCVR3-GC3 has been installed. However, as of June 2021, the image sensor will only enroll with the panel as a standard motion sensor, and it will not send any images to Alarm.com. 2GIG says that a fix for this issue will be released sometime in the future. We do not have an ETA for the fix at this time.
